Gas Chromatography (GC) vs High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
For years, the cannabis industry has predominantly used the GC method to establish the potency of cannabinoids as low as 2% THC all the way to 23% THC. As the industry develops and new technology is available the known ranges for cannabis is widening. Through the use of HPLC we are able to see a much higher content within the flowers we test. The difference between the GC and the HPLC is that the GC decarboxylates the THC-A and CBD-A, and all other acid levels giving you a false analysis. HPLC analysis will not decarboxylate the sample and reveal its true potential cannabinoid content. HPLC is an accurate method for true cannabinoid results.
